January Favorites

February 1, 2018

January is almost over I just wanted to share with you all what I enjoyed this month.

App: Primer

Primer is an app by Google that teaches you tips and tricks on business and marketing. The reason I like it is because they do it in little bite-sized amounts. So you can do a lesson in about 5 minutes but still feel like you learned something.

Book:  You Are A Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living An Awesome Life.

This book has been making the rounds on the interweb for a while and I read it a while ago. But I picked it up for the new year and its message still resonates with me. It is wild how we let preconceived notions that we believe about ourselves or our situations, hold us back from reaching our full potential.

Song: Jump by Cynthia Erivo

Movie: Step

These two go hand in hand, the movie Step is a documentary that follows three young ladies who live in Baltimore and are on their schools step team. The song Jump is on the soundtrack. The Movie is excellent!!! That's really all I’m going to say because I want you to watch these young ladies go after their dreams despite what's happening around them, the song is perfect because it's just about taking that leap to follow our dreams.

TV Show: The Good Doctor

The show the Good Doctor follows surgical resident Shawn Murphy as he navigates his new job. Shawn has autism and savant syndrome and it is a great story about being different but still being excellent. You see Shawn have to prove himself time and time again because people just don't think he can achieve because of his perceived handicap. I love Freddie Highmore and he is excellent in this role!

Place: The library.

I have been an avid visitor of the library since I was a child but this past month I have been hitting this place up non-stop it feels. Every book I think I want to read I look it up on the website and I request it. Thankfully my branch is not that far from me. In an increasingly digital age I implore you all to still visit your local library.
